A New Season: Choosing Purpose Over Busyness
A Personal Message from Esther Mae Easter
Sometimes understanding your purpose requires the courage to stop doing good things so you can give your whole heart to the things you are truly called to do.
Yesterday, I spent the day being still, listening, reflecting, and seeking God's direction. I was reminded of something important: Understanding your purpose does not mean you have to eat the entire elephant in one bite.
My autistic, neurodivergent mind moves at remarkable speed. I can envision possibilities from beginning to end, often seeing several projects and their potential before I have completed the first one. For years, I believed that because I could see it, I needed to pursue it.
But seeing the possibilities does not mean I am called to pursue every one of them.
Sometimes the greatest act of faith is choosing one thing, doing it well, and allowing it to grow. It only takes one.
I have always loved writing. I create places, characters, conversations, and entire worlds in my mind, and then I bring them to life on paper. Writing is not simply something I do. It is part of how I was designed.
I have also dreamed of earning my doctorate and PhD in Natural Medicine. Education is valuable, and that dream has meaning to me. But yesterday, I found myself considering a deeper question: Does pursuing everything I am capable of doing necessarily mean I am pursuing what God has called me to do?
For me, the answer was no.
And with that understanding comes clarity.
I am moving forward with Still Mine | The Awakening, the podcast, and Spectrum Squad.
Through Spectrum Squad, I will continue developing the lives and stories of these young characters as they journey from childhood through middle school, adolescence, and adulthood. Their experiences will grow with them, exploring identity, friendships, challenges, relationships, independence, and the discovery of purpose.
Through Still Mine | The Awakening and its podcast, I will continue sharing the message that has become the heartbeat of my work:
You Are Not Broken. You Were Designed.
As part of this transition, no further posts will be published on the WUTWT website, and the Connection Circle will no longer continue. I am grateful for every person who has been part of this journey. The work and lessons that brought me here will always have meaning.
I will not be adding new projects. Instead, I am choosing to nurture, strengthen, and master the work already entrusted to me.
This is not about doing less because I have less to offer. It is about giving my best to what matters most.
I am learning that I do not need to prove my purpose through constant activity, endless accomplishments, or the number of things I can successfully manage.
I need to be faithful to how I was designed.
Moving forward, I will continue drawing closer to God, seeking His direction before making decisions, and remembering that doing something for Him is not the same as walking with Him and becoming more like Him.
Thank you for walking alongside me through WUTWT. I hope you will continue the journey with me through Still Mine | The Awakening and Spectrum Squad.
I am not walking away from my purpose. I am walking more fully into it.
With gratitude, faith, and a renewed sense of purpose,
Esther Mae Easter
